Wondering what a tailor should charge to alter your Azazie gown? These are the typical prices US tailors charged Azazie customers in 2026, taken from the receipts customers sent us with their alteration reimbursement requests. Use them to judge a quote before you say yes.
Typical total for one gown: $75. Half of all customers paid between $50 and $120. Under $50 usually means one simple adjustment at a dry cleaner; over $150 usually means a lined, multi-layer skirt or three or more changes at a bridal shop.
Price by service
"Typical" is the middle price on receipts that listed the service on its own line. "Usual range" is where the middle half of prices fell. Cities and bridal boutiques run at the top of each range, dry-cleaner alteration counters at the bottom.

What moves the price
- Layers. Every lining or tulle layer is hemmed separately. A three-layer hem ran $85 – $140 on our receipts, against $40 – $65 for a single layer.
- Where you go. Dry-cleaner counters charged $20 – $40 per adjustment. Bridal boutiques quoted $130 – $250 for a gown with no itemized breakdown.
- Structure. Boning, a corset back, a side zipper or a slit each add work.
- Extras on the ticket. Fitting fees, pressing and tips added $15 – $45 to about one receipt in five.
Before you say yes
- Ask for the price per change, not one number. Itemized receipts in our sample were generally cheaper than bundled quotes for the same work.
- Bring the shoes you'll wear. Good tailors write the heel height on the ticket and hem to it.
- Ask whether cups, hooks or a panel are included or billed as parts.
- Get the pickup date in writing. Turnaround on our receipts ran one to three weeks, and most shops list a rush fee for faster.
