We know how important color consistency can be for a bridal party and we've developed this article to share helpful information about the following topics:
- Introduction to Dye Lots
- Dye Lot Procedure Requirements
- Dye Lot Procedure
- Forgot to Choose the Showroom ID
INTRODUCTION TO DYE LOTS
We dye our fabrics in large batches and while we work really hard to maintain consistency between different batches, there can be slight color variations (generally not very noticeable). Because of this, we assign each batch of fabric a unique ID number or dye lot. If a party follows our Dye Lot Procedure, below, we can ensure that fabric is used from the same dye lot so that the dresses are an exact match.
Keep in mind that once dyed, fabric is sent to our various dressmakers and that they all do not have access to the same dye lots (one might be sent dye lot A while another is sent dye lot B).
DYE LOT PROCEDURE REQUIREMENTS
Please keep in mind that you should only follow our Dye Lot Procedure if your entire party will be ordering the same adult bridesmaid dress in the same color and can commit to ordering within the same 24 hour period.
The Dye Lot Procedure has the following limitations:
- We cannot include dresses in the same dye lot per the Dye Lot Procedure if your party plans to order different styles, different color, or cannot commit. We also cannot include Junior dresses, Mother of the Bride dresses, or any ready made products (Ready to Ship dresses or accessories) in the same dye lot.
- If your party is following the procedure but somebody orders with Rush Production or uses Guest Checkout, that person will not have their order made in the same dye lot as the rest of the party.
- The Dye Lot Procedure requires the use of a Showroom but this feature is currently only available on our Desktop and Mobile sites.
If your party is unable to follow our Dye Lot Procedure but you want to ensure the dresses are still a good match, simply instruct your party or order dresses of the same color and fabric type (such as Mesh or Chiffon). As different styles are made at different locations, there may be slight variations in the color but it should be minimal if they all ordered the same fabric type.
Keep in mind that different fabrics take on color differently so to ensure you are happy with the variations, we recommend ordering a color swatch so you can compare fabrics (specialty fabrics sold separately).
DYE LOT PROCEDURE
If your party will be ordering the same adult bridesmaid dress in the same color and can commit to ordering within the same 24 hour period we will be able to make the dresses from the same dye lot. Simply follow these steps:
- CREATE A SHOWROOM:
Have a member of your party (such as the Maid of Honor or Bride) create a Showroom. Once the Showroom is created, they can invite the rest of the party to join. The invitees must accept the invitation and will be prompted to either sign in or create an account (this is required).
Each Showroom is assigned a unique ID number (also known as "Party ID" or "Showroom ID") that everybody gets access to once they have accepted the invitation and
- SELECT YOUR STYLE:
If your party wants to ensure that the bridesmaid dresses are all made from the exact same batch of fabric (or dye lot), you'll all need to choose a single style for everybody to order.
If your party plans to order different styles, no need to follow the rest of these steps. You can have them order styles of the same fabric to make sure they are at least a close match.
- CHOOSE A DATE TO ORDER:
In general, we recommend ordering no sooner than 4 months before your event date. Parties looking to ensure color consistency will need the entire party to order within the same 24 hour period, so schedule a date in advance that works for everybody!
IMPORTANT: Once the first order is placed using your Showroom ID a countdown timer will begin and the rest of your party will only have 24 hours to place their orders before your Showroom ID becomes inactive.
- PLACE YOUR ORDERS:
On the chosen date, have your party place their orders, being sure that they choose the Showroom ID while in their shopping bag, immediately prior to checkout:
If the drop down menu pictured above doesn't appear while in the shopping bag, you did not accept or were not invited to the party's Showroom. Once invited, the menu will appear.
Please NOTE: Orders placed with Rush Production cannot be added to the same dye lot.
If a member of the party forgets to choose the Showroom ID while in their shopping bag, they can (if eligible) follow the instructions in the next section.
- CREATE A SHOWROOM:
FORGOT TO CHOOSE THE SHOWROOM
If you placed your order within the same 24 hours as your party but forgot to choose your showroom ID at checkout, you may still be able to add it if:
- You placed your order through an azazie.com account and did not checkout as a guest.
- You are within your 24 hours of ordering
- You have been invited to your party's showroom (if not, have them invite you).
- You did not choose Rush Production at checkout.
NOTE: If you ordered outside of the same 24 hours as the party, we'll be unable to add your order into the same dye lot.
To add your showroom ID to your order, you'll need to log into your azazie.com account and go to the "My Account" page, here. Then you'll click on the order in question and choose "Add to Showroom" at the bottom of the order's detail page. The following window will appear and you can choose your party's showroom ID:
Once you've chosen your ID and clicked "Confirm," you'll get a confirmation that the ID has been added to your order and you'll also be emailed a confirmation of this change to the email on file for your order.
If you checked out as a guest or run into another issue trying to add your ID to your order, please reach out to our customer service team with your order number and the showroom ID (the number, not the name of your bride) and they will see what they can do to help.
