How much can color vary between different fabrics?

Color can actually vary quite a bit, depending on the fabric!

We highly recommend ordering swatches before deciding on a color or fabric so you can see the true color quality of each fabric in person. Different fabrics can take on the same dye completely different, and the texture can also make it appear different- so it may throw off your color palette if you aren’t expecting it!

In general, Satin and Charmeuse fabrics tend to be richer in color and can appear much more saturated than chiffon. And note- there IS a difference between chiffon and crinkle chiffon!

It is also important to take into consideration the lining of the dress. The majority of our dresses are lined with a polyblend liner. However some styles, in particular the maternity styles, have stretch lining. The stretch lining can be a bit different color than standard lining, which can also affect how the chiffon appears. We do note on the individual style pages if it has stretch lining.

To help visualize how different fabrics take the dye, here’s some of our wonderful Stylists in dresses that are made of different fabrics, but are all Azazie's Burgundy:

(also note how different lightings and camera settings can affect how colors look in pictures!)
